On that night, near milepost 12, Domonik’s vehicle left the roadway, went airborne, and came to rest in a nearby field where it overturned and was quickly engulfed in flames. Despite the immediate response of Oregon State Police, the Glide Volunteer Fire Department, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Domonik was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. The suddenness of the tragedy has shaken those closest to him, reminding everyone of how fragile and precious life truly is.
