In Loving Memory of José V. Gallegos
With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, the family, friends, and community of San Angelo remember and honor the life of José V. Gallegos, age 76, who passed away on the evening of December 9, 2025. José’s life was tragically cut short in a vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 277 and Reece Road, a sudden loss that has left those who knew him grieving yet profoundly grateful for the years they shared with him.
José was a lifelong resident of San Angelo, a place he loved deeply and where he built a life rooted in kindness, integrity, and devotion to the people around him. Known for his warm smile and humble spirit, he was the kind of man who made every person feel seen, valued, and welcomed. Whether he was visiting with neighbors, helping a friend in need, or simply sharing a quiet moment with someone he cared about, José carried a gentle wisdom that left a lasting impression.
He had the steady patience of someone who had seen much in his life and chose compassion at every turn. Friends and family often recall his stories—told with humor, heart, and the soft-spoken charm that was uniquely his. He found joy in simple things: the warmth of a good conversation, the beauty of a West Texas sunrise, and the comfort of being surrounded by those he loved.
José lived in service to others, often putting the needs of family and friends before his own. His commitment to his loved ones was unwavering, and his presence was a cornerstone of strength in the lives of many. Though quiet in nature, his love was loud in the way he showed up—consistently, faithfully, and without hesitation.
His passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, a silence where his voice once brought comfort. Yet, the memory of his life—his kindness, generosity, and gentle humor—remains a source of light for everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we remember José, we honor not just the circumstances of his passing but the fullness of his life. A life lived with dignity. A life grounded in love. A life that touched far more people than he ever realized.
May his memory be a blessing.
May his spirit rest in peace.
And may those who mourn him find comfort in knowing that love is eternal, and he will be carried in their hearts always.
Rest in loving peace, José V. Gallegos.
