In Loving Memory Of Marcedo Allen McNeil (33) of Stedman, NC and Reginald K. Howard (39) of Harrells, NC
On Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1836 hours, Trooper A.T. Cox responded to a single vehicle, double fatality on NC411 (Harrells Hwy) just east of Garland. His investigation revealed that a 2006 Toyota Sequoia was traveling east on NC411 at a very high rate of speed when the driver ran off the road to the right and came back onto the roadway out of control. The vehicle then crossed the centerline, ran off the road to the left and struck the ditch. After impact, the vehicle crossed the ditch, struck a power pole, bringing it and the power lines down, before striking a large tree, where it came to rest. The vehicle then caught fire and completely burned.
The driver was identified as Marcedo Allen McNeil (33) of Stedman, NC. It is unknown whether the driver was restrained due to the damaged caused by the fire, after the high-speed impact with the tree.
The passenger was identified as Reginald K. Howard (39) of Harrells, NC. Also, it is unknown whether Howard was restrained.
All next of kin has been notified.
Barnes and Sons wrecker service towed the vehicle and Four County Power Company responded to replace the power pole and repair the downed power lines
