In Loving Memory of Latrice Dodson
The Clarksville community is grieving the tragic and untimely loss of Latrice Dodson, 46, whose life was cut short in a fatal motor vehicle crash on December 19, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m. The crash occurred on the 101st Airborne Division Parkway between Peachers Mill Road and the West Fork Bridge, leaving family, friends, coworkers, and the families she served heartbroken.
Latrice was more than a name or a statistic—she was a devoted crossing guard with the Clarksville Police Department, a role she proudly began in August 2025. In a short time, she became a trusted and familiar presence for the children and families of Kenwood Elementary School and Ringgold Elementary School. Each day, she stood watch with care and dedication, ensuring students crossed safely, often offering reassurance through her consistency, attentiveness, and quiet strength.
Her work was rooted in service. Latrice understood the importance of protecting children and supporting families, and she carried that responsibility with pride. Parents relied on her, children recognized her, and colleagues respected her commitment. Though her service was brief, the impact she made was meaningful and lasting.
The driver and juvenile passenger who were in the same vehicle as Ms. Dodson are reported to be in stable condition. The incident remains under investigation, and charges are pending.
As Clarksville mourns, the community remembers Latrice Dodson for the way she lived—showing up each day with purpose, compassion, and dedication to others. Her legacy will live on in the children she protected and the lives she touched.
May she rest in peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in her lasting impact.
