In Loving Memory of David Gabriel Castro

The Tucson community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of David Gabriel Castro, a 23-year-old whose life was tragically cut short in a single-vehicle accident on December 21, 2025. His passing has left family, friends, and all who knew him grappling with profound sorrow, as a young life filled with potential and promise came to an abrupt and devastating end.

In the early morning hours, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers from the Operations Division Midtown and the Tucson Fire Department responded to a serious crash at the intersection of East Speedway Boulevard and North Country Club Road. David was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Despite the swift response of first responders and medical personnel, his injuries proved fatal.

According to investigators, David was driving a Honda Accord southbound on Country Club Road when he lost control of the vehicle, struck a curb, and crashed into a business located on the southwest corner of the intersection. Authorities have stated that he was not wearing a seatbelt and was traveling at a speed significantly above the posted 35 mph limit. While impairment is not suspected, excessive speed and loss of control are believed to be major contributing factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, led by Traffic Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit.

Beyond the details of the accident, David will be remembered for who he was—a young man with a future ahead of him, dreams still unfolding, and people who loved him deeply. His loss serves as a painful reminder of how fragile life can be and how quickly everything can change.

As loved ones grieve, the community is encouraged to hold David’s memory with compassion and reflection. Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact the Tucson Police Department or 88-CRIME anonymously.

May David Gabriel Castro rest in peace, and may his family and friends find strength, comfort, and healing in the days ahead.
