In Loving Memory of Tristan John Wanner
The Minot community is grieving the tragic loss of Tristan John Wanner, a 48-year-old resident whose life was taken far too soon following a pedestrian crash on East Burdick Expressway. His passing has left family, friends, and neighbors heartbroken, as they struggle to come to terms with a sudden and devastating loss.
On the evening of Sunday, December 14, at approximately 9:07 p.m., Minot Police responded to reports of a pedestrian struck near East Burdick Expressway and 3rd Street SE, in front of the Ward County District Courthouse. Emergency responders from Trinity First Response and the Minot Fire Department arrived quickly and found Tristan unconscious with severe, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Trinity Hospital, where he remained under intensive medical care.
Despite the efforts of medical teams, Tristan succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The investigation later determined that a black 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, attempting to turn left onto 3rd Street SE, failed to yield to Tristan as he walked westbound within a marked crosswalk, resulting in the collision that claimed his life.
Tristan was more than a statistic or an investigation—he was a person deeply valued by those who knew him. His loss is felt in quiet moments, familiar places, and the everyday routines he was once part of. As the community mourns, his passing stands as a powerful reminder of the importance of caution, awareness, and responsibility on our roadways.
The case remains under review by the Ward County State’s Attorney’s Office. Tristan John Wanner will be remembered for his life, his presence, and the lasting impact he leaves behind.
