In Loving Memory of Foster Old
On Christmas Day, a time meant for warmth, celebration, and togetherness, a devastating tragedy struck Delaware County and forever changed the lives of many. Eighteen-year-old Foster Old of Dublin lost his life in a fatal crash, leaving behind a family, friends, and community grappling with unimaginable grief during what should have been a season of joy.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred in Concord Township when Foster was traveling on Moore Road and failed to yield at a stop sign. His Subaru was struck on the driver’s side by a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 22-year-old Austin Hall of Delaware, who was traveling southbound on Dublin Road. The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway. Despite the swift response of emergency crews, Foster was pronounced dead at the scene. Hall and his three passengers survived, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities later confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be factors in the crash.
Foster’s passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile life can be, especially for someone so young, with so many dreams still ahead. At just 18 years old, Foster stood at the threshold of adulthood—a future filled with possibility, promise, and purpose. Though his time was far too short, the impact he made in his years will not be forgotten.
Those who knew Foster remember him as a young man full of life, with a presence that mattered. He was someone’s child, someone’s friend, someone’s classmate—deeply loved and deeply missed. His absence leaves a silence that words cannot fill, and a pain that echoes through the hearts of all who cared for him.
During this season of reflection, the loss of Foster Old serves as a solemn reminder to hold loved ones close and to cherish every moment. It also underscores the importance of road safety and awareness, especially during busy holiday travel, when a single moment can alter lives forever.
As the community mourns, we extend our deepest condolences to Foster’s family and friends. May they find strength in shared memories, comfort in one another, and peace in knowing that Foster’s life—though brief—was meaningful and will always be remembered.
Rest in peace, Foster. You are gone too soon, but your memory will live on always.
