In Loving Memory of Casey Michael Smith
It is with profound sadness that we remember Casey Michael Smith, 41, of Midland, whose life was tragically cut short in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on State Highway 349 early Sunday morning, December 28, 2025. Casey’s passing is a heartbreaking loss to his family, friends, and the Midland community—a life filled with promise and meaningful connections taken far too soon.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, troopers responded to the crash near the intersection of SH 349 and County Road 270 at approximately 2:42 a.m. Preliminary reports indicate that Casey was traveling southbound when he failed to maintain a single lane of traffic. The motorcycle’s front tire made contact with a gravel strip, causing it to veer off the roadway and strike a pole. Despite wearing a helmet, Casey was pronounced deceased at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
Casey was more than just a name in a report; he was a cherished son, friend, and member of the Midland community. Those who knew him remember his warmth, his steady presence, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His sudden passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the memories of his kindness, his laughter, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of family and friends.
In this difficult time, we lift up Casey’s loved ones in prayer, asking for comfort, strength, and healing as they navigate this unimaginable loss. May they find solace in cherished memories and in the support of their community.
