In Loving Memory of Dion Travis Abraham
With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Dion Travis Abraham, whose life was tragically taken by gun violence on the evening of Monday, December 29, 2025. Dion was just 39 years old, a resident of Abington, Pennsylvania, and a man whose life mattered deeply to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
At approximately 8:00 p.m., officers from the 39th Police District responded to a report of a person with a gun in the 3600 block of North 17th Street in Philadelphia. Upon arrival, they discovered Dion unresponsive inside a 2008 silver Nissan Maxima, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and legs. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 8:25 p.m. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, his injuries proved fatal.
Dion’s passing has left an immeasurable void. He was more than a statistic or a headline—he was a son, a friend, a loved one, and a human being with dreams, memories, and a future that was cruelly cut short. Those who knew Dion remember him for the life he lived and the connections he shared, and they now mourn the moments that will never come.
At this time, no motive has been identified and no arrests have been made. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit continues to actively investigate this case, determined to bring answers and accountability to Dion’s loved ones.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or submit an anonymous tip. As with all homicides in Philadelphia, a reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
May Dion Travis Abraham be remembered not for the violence that ended his life, but for the life he lived and the love he leaves behind.
