With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Erick Ramoine Williams Jr. Yngm Ej a beloved son, family member, and friend whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 29 following a motorcycle crash in west Birmingham. Erick was a resident of Birmingham, a young man full of life, independence, and a spirit that touched those who knew him.
On Sunday evening, around 9 p.m., Erick told his family he was heading out for a ride—something that brought him peace and freedom. When he did not return home, concern quickly turned into fear. His family, alongside law enforcement, began searching for him early Monday morning, holding onto hope while using every available means to find him. Through the Find My Friends app, they were led to Birmingham’s west side, where their worst fears were confirmed.
Erick was found at approximately 11:05 a.m. Monday in the area of Birmingport Road at Templeton Avenue. Despite efforts to locate him sooner, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:15 a.m. The Birmingham Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Though the details of his passing remain under review, what is certain is the deep and lasting impact Erick leaves behind. He was more than a name in a report—he was someone’s child, someone’s family, someone’s friend. He was a young man with dreams, memories, and a future that should have stretched far beyond this moment.
