In Loving Memory of Justin Nance
With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Justin Nance, a 42-year-old man from Falls of Rough, whose life was tragically lost in a two-vehicle collision in Breckinridge County. Justin’s sudden passing has left his family, friends, and community in deep mourning, as they struggle to come to terms with a loss that came far too soon.
According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to the fatal crash on Monday afternoon at approximately 5:00 p.m., near the four-mile marker of Highway 79. Investigators determined that a Hyundai Sonata, driven by Justin, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Jeep Patriot. Despite the rapid response of emergency personnel, Justin was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Breckinridge County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the Jeep, Daniella Wright, 41, of Louisville, was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released. The accident remains under investigation by KSP Post 4 accident reconstructionist Trooper Scott Wheatley.
Beyond the details of the crash, Justin Nance was a son, a friend, and a valued member of the Falls of Rough community. At 42, he carried with him years of memories, relationships, and experiences that shaped the lives of those around him. His passing has created a void that cannot be filled, leaving loved ones to grieve not only who he was, but all that he still had ahead of him.
Justin will be remembered for the connections he made and the moments he shared—simple, meaningful memories that now carry even greater weight. In small towns and close communities, a loss like this is felt by many, and the sorrow is shared collectively.
We also acknowledge the efforts of all agencies who responded to the scene, including the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, Breckinridge County Fire & Rescue, Breckinridge County EMS, the Breckinridge County Coroner’s Office, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, whose professionalism and dedication were evident during a difficult and heartbreaking response.
