In Loving Memory of Rebecca Park — A Heartbreaking Loss Felt Across Grand Traverse County

Grand Traverse County is mourning the devastating loss of Rebecca Park, a beloved daughter, mother, family member, and friend whose disappearance shook the community and whose tragic discovery has left hearts broken across Michigan. After 21 agonizing days of searching, Rebecca’s father confirmed on November 25 that he found her body—an outcome no loved one should ever have to face.

Rebecca, who disappeared on November 4, was approximately 39 weeks pregnant at the time she went missing. She was last seen around 11:30 p.m., getting into the passenger seat of a dark-colored vehicle outside a relative’s home on South 21½ Road. Her mother, Courtney Bartholomew, was the last person to speak with her, and her family had hoped desperately for her safe return.

For three long weeks, Rebecca’s disappearance triggered a massive community effort—law enforcement, volunteers, neighbors, and strangers searched tirelessly across Grand Traverse County. A reward of $12,000 was offered for any information that could lead to her being found. Despite extensive searches conducted by the Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan State Police, and volunteer teams, no meaningful evidence surfaced that could bring her home.

Rebecca’s father never stopped looking for his daughter. It was during one of those determined, heart-wrenching searches that he discovered her body—an unimaginable moment of grief no parent should ever endure. The pain of that discovery will remain with him and the family forever, but his love and devotion ensured that Rebecca was not lost to the world without being found.

Throughout the investigation, authorities clarified that there was no confirmed direct evidence of assault, and they dispelled rumors of bloody clothing circulating on social media. As of the discovery of her body, no arrests have been made, and many questions remain unanswered. The sheriff’s office has stated it will release additional information as the investigation continues.

But beyond the mystery, the heartbreak, and the headlines, Rebecca Park was a person—a woman whose life was filled with dreams, relationships, and love. She was an expectant mother on the cusp of welcoming her child into the world. She was a daughter whose family cherished her deeply. She was part of a community that rallied around her in hope, prayer, and solidarity.

Rebecca will be remembered for her warmth, her spirit, her resilience, and the love she held for her family. Those who knew her describe her as someone who cared fiercely and deserved so much more than the tragedy that befell her. Her absence now leaves an unfillable void, made heavier by the circumstances and the many questions that linger.

As Grand Traverse County grieves together, the community stands with Rebecca’s family—lifting them up, honoring her memory, and remaining united in the pursuit of truth and justice. Rebecca’s story has touched countless lives, and even in tragedy, she brought people together in compassion and strength.

May Rebecca Park rest in eternal peace.

May her family find comfort, may the community hold them close, and may the truth one day bring clarity and justice for her and the child she carried.

A Tragic Night That Shook a Community

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Knutson Drive. AURORA POLICE & KANE COUNTY CORONER RELEASE ADDITIONAL DETAILS OF SATURDAY EVENING SHOOTING

Aurora, Illinois — As the investigation continues into Saturday night’s shooting at Two Brothers Roundhouse, the Aurora Police Department and the Kane County Coroner’s Office are releasing additional information to help the community understand the circumstances behind this tragic incident.

On November 22nd, just around 9:10p.m., Aurora Police Dispatch received multiple 911 calls for shots fired at 205 N. Broadway (Two Brothers Roundhouse). When officers arrived, they located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Detectives from the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division responded to the scene, along with Evidence Technicians, to begin a comprehensive investigation. As the investigation progressed, the Kane County Coroner’s Office was requested to the scene.

“The Kane County Coroner responded to an incident at the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora which occurred on November 22, 2025. Two decedents were transported to the Kane County Coroner’s Office. The two individuals have been positively identified as Jazmine Barclay, age 24, of Aurora, and Bryan Heineman, age 43, of Naperville,” said Kane County Coroner, Dr. Monica Silva. “On behalf of my entire staff, I wish to relay our deepest condolences to the loved ones of Ms. Barclay and Mr. Heineman.”

The preliminary investigation shows that the suspect, Bryan Heineman, and Jazmine Barclay had been in a dating relationship. On Saturday evening, Barclay and a 33-year-old male were together on the upper-level balcony of the Roundhouse music room when Heineman entered the business. Evidence suggests he went there specifically to confront the pair and may have learned their location from a social media post. Moments after approaching them, Heineman opened fire, striking both victims before turning the gun on himself.

Barclay was transported to Mercy Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased due to gunshot wounds. The 33-year-old male remains in critical condition in the ICU. Heineman was pronounced deceased at the scene. No bystanders were struck by gunfire or injured.

A firearm was recovered near Heineman, along with additional evidence consistent with witness statements.

“This was a deeply traumatic event for the victims, their families, the employees and patrons who were there, and the community as a whole,” said Aurora Police Chief Matt Thomas. “People simply trying to enjoy their night out were suddenly confronted with targeted violence. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and every member of our community who is still processing what they experienced.”

In Loving Memory of Michael T. Baxter New York

The community of Camillus is mourning the loss of Michael T. Baxter, 66, whose life came to a quiet and heartbreaking end last week inside his longtime home on Mason Drive. While the circumstances surrounding his passing are still being carefully reviewed by fire investigators, authorities have shared that no criminal activity is suspected. For those who knew Michael, the news has brought sorrow, reflection, and a renewed appreciation for a man remembered for his warmth, humility, and gentle presence.

On Wednesday afternoon, at 3:06 p.m., firefighters were called to 197 Mason Drive after the Onondaga County 911 Center received reports of heavy smoke pushing through a front window and concerns that someone remained inside. Responders acted swiftly, containing the blaze to a portion of the first floor and extinguishing it before it could cause significant damage. Despite their efforts, it was later confirmed that Michael had passed away before help arrived.

Though the physical damage to the home was minimal, the emotional impact of the loss is profound. Michael Baxter was more than a name in a news report—he was a neighbor, a friend, and a beloved member of the Camillus community. Those who lived nearby recall a man who took pride in caring for his home, greeted others with a nod or a wave, and carried himself with quiet kindness. He was known to be steady, trustworthy, and content with the simple comforts of daily life.

Michael’s death leaves a stillness on Mason Drive, a street where he spent years building memories and sharing life with those around him. While the fire that took his life was small in scale, the heartbreak it caused has carried far beyond the walls of his home.

As investigators work to determine the exact cause of the incident, his neighbors and loved ones are focusing on what truly matters: honoring his life rather than the circumstances of his passing. In these moments of grief, the community is reminded that every person leaves behind a story—one shaped by the relationships they nurture, the routines they cherish, and the quiet ways they make the world a little better.

Today, we remember Michael T. Baxter—a man who lived humbly, who was loved deeply, and who will be missed dearly. His absence is felt, but so too is the impact of his presence during the many years he called Camillus home.

May he rest in peace, and may those who knew and loved him find comfort in their memories and in the support of the community that surrounds them.
