Authorities in Houston have released the mugshot of the man accused in a tragic crash that claimed the life of 42-year-old Jessica Daughtery. The fatal incident occurred on the 7900 block of the Gulf Freeway around 8:35 a.m. on December 5, leaving the community shocked and grieving.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Jason Arvin Velasquez, now faces multiple serious charges, including intoxication manslaughter, failure to stop and render aid causing death, and multiple counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to investigators, Velasquez was driving a white Chevrolet Suburban at high speeds northbound on the Gulf Freeway when he collided with the rear of a black Nissan Altima, the vehicle occupied by Jessica Daughtery. The force of the impact proved fatal for Daughtery, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
