GALESBURG – It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Marte Glass, 72, a beloved member of the Galesburg community. Marte succumbed to her injuries on November 30 following a two-vehicle crash that occurred on November 22 in the 1300 block of South Lake Storey Road.
Marte was remembered by family, friends, and neighbors as a kind, compassionate, and spirited individual whose presence brightened the lives of those around her. Her sudden loss has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her.
The crash also involved Ashley England, 32, of Galesburg, who remains hospitalized with serious injuries. The Galesburg Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
Marte’s family asks for privacy as they grieve, and they extend their heartfelt gratitude to the first responders, medical personnel, and community members who provided care and support in the aftermath of the crash.
