The Mohave County community mourns the tragic loss of Ronald Aaron Plett, 57, of Bullhead City, who passed away following a motorcycle collision on Sunday, December 21, in Fort Mohave. Mr. Plett, a cherished member of his community, lost his life in an unexpected accident that has left family, friends, and neighbors deeply saddened.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 3:39 PM near S. La Riqueza Road and E. Panadero Road. Deputies responded to find that Mr. Plett had struck a southbound sedan while riding a motorcycle, resulting in his ejection from the bike. Despite being transported to a nearby hospital and wearing a helmet and protective gear, he suffered fatal blunt-force injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Investigators learned that Mr. Plett had been riding dirt bikes with several companions in the area. Traveling eastbound on a raised utility road along the wash, his motorcycle became airborne as it crossed the paved roadway. The rear tire of the motorcycle struck the sedan’s windshield and roof, causing the ejection. Video surveillance from a nearby business confirmed the sequence of events, and preliminary findings indicate that neither speed nor impairment of the sedan driver contributed to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
