In Loving Memory of the Victims of the Highway 83 Tragedy — A Community Mourns an Unimaginable Loss
The Franktown community is grieving deeply after a catastrophic crash on Highway 83 Monday afternoon claimed five lives and left two others seriously injured. The crash, described by first responders as profoundly devastating, shut down the roadway in both directions for several hours as emergency crews worked tirelessly amid a scene that left even seasoned officials shaken.
Among the victims was 35-year-old Alvin C., a man remembered by loved ones as devoted, hardworking, and endlessly caring. Alvin was known for the love he carried for his family and the dedication he showed in every part of his life. His presence brought strength, humor, and warmth into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. Losing him so suddenly has left family and friends heartbroken beyond measure.
Even more heartbreaking, three children were also killed in the crash—young lives filled with hope, dreams, and futures that will now never be realized:
- Toretto Corado, 8
- Makenlee Corado, 12
- Jase Green, 12
These children—vibrant, curious, joyful, and full of promise—leave behind families who now face the unimaginable grief of losing precious young souls.
Toretto, only 8 years old, was known for his playful spirit and boundless affection, lighting up every room with his smile.
Makenlee, at 12, was growing into a thoughtful, kind-hearted young person who cared deeply for others and embraced life wholeheartedly.
Jase, also 12, was a loyal friend, a loving family member, and a bright presence whose laughter brought happiness to countless moments.
Their loss is felt across schools, neighborhoods, friend groups, and extended communities—each child leaving behind memories that are now treasured even more fiercely.
Two additional individuals were seriously injured in the crash and are receiving medical care. As the community mourns those lost, prayers and hopes remain strong for the healing of the survivors.
In times like these, words feel too small to hold the weight of such a tragedy. Families have been shattered. Friends are devastated. First responders carry the emotional burden of what they witnessed. And the community at large is left struggling to understand how such a sudden, violent loss could occur.
Yet in the midst of grief, love continues to rise. Candlelight vigils, online tributes, and heartfelt gestures from neighbors show a community determined to stand together—offering support, comfort, and solidarity to the families forever changed by this tragedy.
As investigators work to determine the cause of the crash, the focus for many remains on honoring the lives lost:
Alvin C.,
Toretto Corado,
Makenlee Corado,
and Jase Green.
Their time here was far too short, but their impact was profound. Their memories will live on in the stories shared, the lives they touched, and the love that continues despite the heartbreak.
May their souls rest in peace,
and may their families find strength, comfort, and healing through the love that surrounds them.
